Canyon County Parks, Cultural and Natural Resources, and their partner, the Southwest Idaho Resource, Conservation and Development Council, were selected to receive a $2,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Boise Sunrise for the Canyon County Parks Bus Scholarship Program.  Sunrise Rotary Club President Les Jensen presented the check to Parks Assistant Director Kathy Kershner during the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Boise Sunrise on June 25.

The Bus Scholarship Program assists schools in the Treasure Valley with transportation costs for Canyon County Park’s extensive school field trip program. Since 2011, scholarships have been awarded to 187 schools, enabling thousands of students and teachers to have a quality outdoor learning experience.

As a service organization, Rotary funds projects that promote youth development, literacy, and local area improvements. They also provide assistance to disadvantaged populations. The generosity of Rotary Club of Boise Sunrise is greatly appreciated.
