The Dale G. Haile Detention Center was built in 1991, however, there was concern at the time over the jail and how it was built. It wasn’t until 1993 that it was officially opened.  This serves as the county’s primary holding facility with a total capacity of 321 inmates and a target population of 256 inmates.  Out of the 321 available beds, 40 are designated for work release inmates and another 34 are special management units primarily used for booking.

The Jail Annex was opened in 1948 and part of it is still used to house inmates today. It has a capacity of 34 inmates. The design of the jail Annex is outdated and requires significant resources to oversee its small inmate population. It requires two deputies to monitor up to 34 inmates, which are housed on two separate floors.

The Tent Facility was opened in 2006 and was originally designed to house work release inmates, who are released each morning to go their jobs and then return each evening to spend the night in jail. However, due to overcrowding issues, the Tent Facility now houses general population inmates who are classified as minimum-security inmates.  It has a total inmate capacity of 122.  The Tent Facility has been upgraded multiple times over the past several years to help harden the facility and make it more secure. These upgrades were in response to numerous escapes by inmates between 2016 – 2018.
